Here’s the latest song from the 1960s group, The Monkees. Me and Magdalena is sung by the band’s Mike Nesmith in lead vocals and Micky Dolenz in background vocals. The song is slowly melodic, drifting the audio memory to the poetic compositions that Nesmith offered in the group’s albums from the ’60s.
Unlike The Kind of Girl I Could Love and While I cry, Me and Magdalena was written by Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard for The Monkees. It will be in the group’s first studio album in nearly 20 years – Good Times! – which will be released on the 27th.
